Oh for the love of that summer groove of a look! And for the love of beach outfit accessories! Summer gives you the opportunity to get creative with what you wear in terms of looking fresh and free. And by looking fresh, actually feeling so as you walk the streets and strut that summer catwalk. Imaginary catwalk, that is.
But it isn’t always that easy. With so many clothing stores. So many clothes in your closet. And so many suggestions online and on social media about what to wear and what not to wear during summer. It can get confusing. Here are our favorite easy-to-wear summer accessories we’re sure you’ll love, too!
Accessorizing For Summer
First and foremost, why don’t we begin with summer clothing? Before we get into what the post is about: accessorizing. Summer clothing should be in keeping with the weather. Just because it’s stylish and it looks good on you won’t necessarily mean that it’s perfect for the season. Why not? Because you have to take temperature into account. Plus, the rule when it comes to fashion is always “comfort first above all else.”
Then, how should you do it? Let’s talk about fabric. Silk is luxurious. Chiffon is exquisite. Especially because it gives that almost-see-through kind of appearance without giving away too much. Rayon is soft to the touch. These are must-haves in your wardrobe. However, when it comes to the sweltering heat, they are your frenemies. Take note of that. No matter how gorgeous you’ll look in them, they just won’t work with the summer heat.
Instead, stick to cotton. Cotton is absorbent it won’t keep you sweating and let that sweat linger on your skin the whole day. Eww. We know, we know. But that’s the reality. Furthermore, they’re breathable. This means that this kind of fabric allows air to circulate, leaving your skin feeling comfy all day long.
Beach Outfit Accessories: Accessorizing For Your Beach Outfit
Now comes what this post is about. Accessorizing for the beach. You want to look fab even if you’re simply sitting under that umbrella. Pre-going in the water and/or post. Most people think that overloading with necklaces and bracelets is the way to go since their beach outfits are usually very simple. Which we applaud. Or simply swimwear.
This is where we have to cut in. You don’t have to overcompensate with accessorizing even if your beach attire isn’t exactly a “full” outfit. You don’t want to try to hard to look like you’ve put on an ensemble for the sea and the sand. On the other hand, you shouldn’t have to put in that much of an effort as well. Literally.
Therefore, what should you do? Stick to statement pieces. It’s always two out of three when it comes to summer bling. Those three being: earrings, bracelets and necklaces. Pick one or two out of these that you’d like to emphasize. They don’t even have to match each other. They just need to be, like we’ve mentioned, statements pieces. The pieces that will stand out in your outfit. Bangles and a stone-filled necklace. Super-long dangling earring and a long chain-neck piece. Be creative and mix and match.
Although we do have a hint: the less “shine”, the better. What we mean is that try not to overload with precious stones. A few here and there are okay. But save them for another occasion.
